Make, Do and Mend
Über Make, Do and Mend
A creative and cooperative outlet for people with mental health needs to socialise and learn new skills through strengths-based workshops which are low-cost, sustainable, flexible and environmentally friendly.Make, Do and Mend offers a great variety of exciting volunteering opportunities across all areas of our organisation. We will do our best to match your strengths, talents and motivations to tasks which will enhance and develop your volunteer experience with us. Whether you wish to help with the day to day running of the organisation or help to deliver our extensive workshop programme we would love to hear from you. Whether you wish to meet new people, gain experience or learn new skills we will do our best to tailor our volunteering opportunities to your requirements. Volunteers are extremely important to us at Make, Do and Mend, so you can expect to be treated fairly and to be listened to at all times. Furthermore, where funding allows we will also do our best to reimburse any out of pocket expenses incurred.
All we ask is that we meet first for an informal chat to discuss your volunteer agreement and to clarify the tasks which will be best suited to your skills. All training will be provided and by working towards volunteering best practice (as a member of Volunteering England) we will ensure that your volunteering experience is second to none.
Please note that where volunteer tasks involve contact with our members we will need to ensure the safety of our members who may be considered as vulnerable adults. It will, therefore, be necessary for you to complete a DBS check before commencing.
